Gehlot promised that his government will gradually reduce the effects of inflation on citizens.

Ujjwala Yojana Latest Update: Rajasthan CM, Ashok Gehlot made the announcement in the presence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former party leader Rahul Gandhi at a rally in Alwar.

"I'm putting together the budget for next month. I only have one thing to say at this time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the poor LPG connections through the fake Ujjwala scheme, but the cylinders are empty because the prices have increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1,040," the veteran Congressman stated.

12 cylinders a year for Rs 500 each

"I would like to announce that for those who are below the poverty line and covered by the Ujjwala plan, a study of their category will be undertaken and they will be given 12 cylinders a year for Rs 500 each starting on April 1," he continued.

Gehlot promised that his government will gradually reduce the effects of inflation on citizens.

Highlighting his government's initiatives, the chief minister said that 46 lakh farmers are not paying anything for their electricity consumption because they receive 50 free electricity units and a monthly payment of Rs 1,000.

"One crore individuals are receiving pensions from us in terms of social security. Even the WHO (World Health Organization) commended our efforts during the coronavirus outbreak," he said.

Gehlot also discussed the measures his government has made to increase job opportunities.

Rajasthan's assembly elections are scheduled for the end of the year, and the Congress is working hard to win a second consecutive term in the state.

These initiatives, however, have been hindered by Gehlot's and Sachin Pilot's ongoing power struggle.

Gehlot accused the Narendra Modi government at the center of undermining democracy in the nation and claiming that institutions like the judiciary, the Election Commission, and intel agencies operate in fear.

Before, people were terrified of the Enforcement Directorate, the Income-Tax department, and the Central Bureau of Investigation. Now, he claimed, these agencies are terrified of one another as they anticipate the next executive order.

The Congress leader claimed that the economy is being destroyed and rifts are being formed and the entire nation is suffering from unemployment and price increases.

He declared that "no one knows the path the country will be led" and branded those in charge at the Centre as "fascist and dictatorial."

The CM further said that those who oppose the BJP-led government at the national level are being imprisoned.

In similar circumstances, he claimed, Gandhi organized the "Bharat Jodo Yatra" to bring people together, which is now making headlines around the world.
