Government Approves Old Pension Scheme in This State, Will Give 100 Units Free Power to Poor

The plan to provide 100 free electrical units to the underprivileged received approval.

On Friday, the Jharkhand cabinet accepted the plans to implement the old pension plan under certain restrictions and to provide 100 free electricity units each month to the poor.

A three-person committee led by the development commissioner will be formed to execute the old pension plan, according to an official.

"For the implementation of the plan, the committee will create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). It will be presented to the cabinet for discussion "Reporters were told by cabinet secretary Vandana Dadel.

On April 1, 2004, the National Pension System replaced the old pension plan (NPS).

The plan to provide 100 free electrical units to the underprivileged received approval from the cabinet as well. The news was announced by the government in the budget for 2022–2023

"The benefit will be accessible for up to 100 electricity units of use. Different slabs will be applied above this, "explained Dadel.

The state cabinet approved 55 proposals in all. One of them was the suggestion to offer 1 kg of chana dal at Rs 1 per month to each family qualifying for the food security scheme.

The cabinet also agreed to the proposal to pay MGNREGS workers an additional Rs 27. As a result, an MGNREGA employee in Jharkhand will receive a minimum salary of Rs. 237.

The Jharkhand State Employment of Local Candidates in Private Sector Act regulations were also approved by the government. As per the law, private companies have to provide a reservation of 75 percent for local people.
