Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot announced the scheme in the state budget.

The government of Rajasthan has put into place a rural livelihood loan program under which 1,00,000 rural families would be given loans with no interest for non-agricultural purposes.

The Rajasthan Rural Family Livelihood Loan Scheme would provide loans worth Rs 2000 crore, according to state cooperative minister Udai Lal Anjana. The state government, he continued, would offer an interest subsidy.

Anjana claimed that many rural families rely on agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, weaving, dyeing, etc. for a living. He claimed Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, had launched the program in the state budget.

Small farmers, landless workers, and artisans will be eligible to participate in the program. Additionally, loans will be made accessible to individual self-help group participants.

A maximum of 10 individuals per group may receive an individual loan, with a Rs 2 lakh maximum credit amount.

The borrower can renew the credit limit for the following year after repaying the debts within the allotted year, according to Anjana.
