The Goa Cabinet approved the scheme to offer three LPG cylinders free per year per home starting in April, as promised by BJP in its manifesto. After chairing the first meeting of the new government, which includes him and eight other ministers, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant made the announcement on Monday.
In a tweet, Sawant stated, "After taking the oath as CM, I chaired the first meeting. The Cabinet has decided to formulate the three free cylinder scheme as promised in the BJP manifesto from the new financial year." "The scheme to distribute three free LPG cylinders has been finalized, and it will be announced. Three cylinders will be handed away for free starting in April," he stated. All of the promises made in the BJP election campaign would be fulfilled said Sawant, who took charge of CM office on Monday. "Parties that made lofty promises have abandoned the state," he explained. In its manifesto, the BJP committed not to raise state taxes on gasoline and fuel for the next three years, to provide every household with three free LPG cylinders per year, and to raise the DSSY pension to Rs 3,000.

During his current term, Sawant has stated that resuming iron ore mining and creating jobs are two of his top goals. In the next five years, the manifesto pledged "high-quality housing" for all Goans by offering home loans to qualified families at a 2% interest rate for women.

To boost infrastructure, BJP promised to introduce the Manohar Parrikar Kalyan Fund, which will provide for a common development fund up to Rs 3 crore for every panchayat and up to Rs 5 crore for every municipality.

Reacting to his opponents referring to him as an accidental CM, Sawant said that this time he was “elected and not selected”.
