Govt Announces Election of 11 Members Veterinary Council of India
Candidates are encouraged to adhere to the specified guidelines and timelines to facilitate a smooth and fair electoral process for the Veterinary Council of India.
The Central Government has initiated the election process for the 11-member Veterinary Council of India, as per the Indian Veterinary Council Rules, 1985. This election, outlined under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984), was formalized through notification S.O. 4701(E) dated October 25, 2023.

The Returning Officer, appointed by the High Court of Delhi, has established the following essential dates for the election process:

Nomination Details
Eligible candidates interested in contesting the election are required to submit their nominations in the prescribed format to Justice (Ms.) Asha Menon (Retd.), the Returning Officer for the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. Nominations must be delivered to Cabin No. 5, Chandra Lok Building (2nd Floor), Janpath Road, New Delhi on or before the designated date and time.
Alternatively, candidates have the option to submit their nomination papers online. Scanned copies, bearing clear signatures of both the candidate and the proposer/seconder, should be sent to the returning officer via email at ro.vcielection[at]gmail[dot]com. The deadline for online submissions is 5:00 PM on April 26, 2024. Nominations received after this time will not be entertained.
