Govt. disburses funds to Agri Start Ups

Karnataka, captivating the southern region of India recently has been a  hub of technological innovations. The state, is giving an impetus to start -up in the agriculture technologies (AgTech) space- a move that could help evolve innovation solution to address the challenges in the agrarian landscape.

“The state has extended seed funding of 3 crores to 21 start ups and expects to scale up the initiative going ahead”, said Gaurav Gupta , principal secretary ,IT & BT, Karnataka. The development of emerging technology in agriculture sector is in nascent potential, Gupta said.

There is growing interest among entrepreneur and we see an increase in inquires, he said. The introduction of technology has to do bring along with it, better net connectivity higher smart phones penetration and commoditization of the sensor technology among others. Green Robot Machinery and Yuktix sensing solution are among the start ups that have received seed funding from Karnataka.

Happy farmer labs provides a software-based solution for the organization that are associated with milk procurement and extension services. Taslimarif saiyed , CEO and Director, C-CAMP said the Karnataka governments push to allow experiment on the ground is what sets the initiative apart from others states.
