Honourable CM of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur launched an online Self-Certification facility for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) with an aim to facilitate the business activity in the state.

This online facility will free the entrepreneurs from cumbersome official procedures and facilitate them in setting up enterprises in the state.

The entrepreneurs will have to furnish and duly filled “Declaration of Intent” to the Nodal Agency, to get an “Acknowledgement Certificate” in electronic format, within a seven days period.

Under this facility, there would be no need to get a clearance certificate from the concerned departments for three years or till the enterprise starts functioning, whichever is earlier under the following acts –

  • The Himachal Pradesh Panchayat Act-1994
  • The Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act-1994
  • The Himachal Pradesh Fire Fighting Services Act-1984
  • The Himachal Pradesh Road Side Land Control Act-1968
  • The Himachal Pradesh Shops and Commercial Establishments Act-1969
  • The Himachal Pradesh Societies Registration Act-2006
  • The Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Act-1977

CM Jai Ram Thakur said that, from 1st July, 2020 the enterprises with investment up to Rs 50 crore on plant and machinery will fall under the MSME category, under the new definition of MSMEs. In a small state like Himachal Pradesh, around 99.50% of the industries fall under this category, thus the act would go a long way in helping the entrepreneurs.
