In favor of the continuing farmers' agitation at the Delhi border against the latest farm-laws of the Centre, climate and environmental campaigner Greta Thunberg speaks up.

'We stand in solidarity with the Protest in India, #Farmersprotest' she tweeted.

Thunberg tweeted shortly after a news story was posted by singer Rihanna detailing the Center's crackdown on farmers in several regions by cutting off internet connectivity. 'Why aren't we speaking about this? #FarmersProtest,’ tweeted Rihanna.

For more than two months, thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been demonstrating against the laws on the frontier of the national capital.

They demand that the government revoke the Farm Services Act, 2020 and the Basic Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020, the Price Guarantee Agreement for Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) and the Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act for Farmers, 2020.
