Haryana Agriculture University to Grant Rs 1.98 crore to 16 Startups
Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (HAU), situated in the Hisar city of Haryana has decided to grant Rs 1.96 crore to 16 startups for doing exceptional work in the agri-business sector.
Under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR), the grant has been accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare of the Central Government.
The startups have been selected by the agri-business incubation center (ABIC), located in the HAU, as told by Prof BR Kamboj, the Vice-Chancellor of the HAU. The VC, who is also the chairperson of the ABIC, has said that an agreement had been signed between them and the startups.
With the incentive given in terms of the grant, the startups would provide employment to the youth in their regions and help in improving the conditions of the farmers by promoting agri-business, Kamboj further added.
He further said that the ABIC had been aiding the agri-business-based startups by helping them in getting loans from banks, funding from investors, marketing, technical assistance by scientists of the university, and providing a platform in the agriculture fair. He appealed the startups to pursue their business ardently so that the youth feels inspired by them to set up their own startups.
