‘Heavy Rainfall Alert’ in East and North Eastern Regions; Rain Lashes Delhi-NCR
The IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has predicted ‘heavy rainfall’ over east and northeast India specifically East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Assam and Meghalaya in its latest weather report.

On the other hand, the National Capital including NCR region lashed with heavy rainfall and thunderstorm on Thursday evening, after a long and dry spell which led to a disruption of flight arrival and departure at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The Met department said that the weather in Delhi will be pleasant and residents may see more light showers in the next two-three days. Moreover, the capital will observe cooler temperatures for the next 2-3 days.
“A cyclonic circulation lies over East Uttar Pradesh & adjoining areas of Bihar, Jharkhand & north Chhattisgarh and extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of this cyclonic circulation, Bihar is very likely to experience light to moderate rainfall at many places with isolated heavy falls today, the 04th of October. Thereafter rainfall will reduce significantly over Bihar”, said the weather department in its morning bulletin.
Moreover, the death toll in rain-related incidents has risen to 117 in UP where six people died on Thursday.
Ghat areas of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are very likely to experience enhanced thunderstorm activity mainly on 05th and 06th October says report.
On the other hand, isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and East Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Kerala, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha witnessed heavy rainfall including thunderstorm and lightening as per yesterday’s report.
Maximum temperatures were recorded above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Rayalaseema and at isolated places over Kerala while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over West Rajasthan.
