Heavy Rainfall, Hailstorms Likely in These States Today; Cold Wave Grips Entire North India
The temperature in India is drastically dropping with continuous rainfall and snowfall in many parts of the country. Moreover, the weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh today due to the influence of induced cyclonic circulation across the states. On the other hand, heavy rainfall/snow likely to observe over the Western Himalayan region during the next 48 hours along with thunderstorm, hailstorm, and lightning. Isolated dense fog is very likely to occur over plains of northwest India on 14th & 15th December.

Delhi Weather:
Delhi-NCR is likely to witness light showers on 12th December and temperature is expected to go down drastically. Dense fog will hover throughout the day across the National Capital and create hindrance on visibility. The air quality index of Delhi-NCR stands at 523 which still falls under the category of Hazardous.
“The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over north Afghanistan & neighborhood at mid-tropospheric levels along with induced cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan & neighborhood at lower levels is very likely to cause widespread precipitation with heavy rainfall/snow at isolated to few places along with thunderstorm, hailstorm and lightning over Western Himalayan region during next 48 hours”, says the weather department on its latest report.
As per yesterday’s report, rain along with thundershowers observed at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir while dense fog observed in isolated pockets over Jammu & Kashmir and Assam & Meghalaya. Isolated pockets over East Uttar Pradesh also observed moderate fog throughout the day.
Maximum temperatures were reported appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, and Madhya Maharashtra while minimum temperatures were reported appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over West Madhya Pradesh, Marathawada, Telangana and West Rajasthan.
