Himachal Pradesh Government to Provide Additional Benefits to Registered Workers amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Instalment to 1.37 lakh workers registered under BOCW 

An additional instalment of INR 2,000 will be provided for the month of June to 1.37 lakh workers, registered under HP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCW). 

In a video conference with workers, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur ji said that INR 2,000 has been provided to each beneficiary for the month of April and May, 2020. He further added that, the workers play a very important role in nation-building and development, so the government is taking every step to provide them assistance amid this pandemic.  

Any worker between age group of 18 to 60 years, with at least 90 days work experience either as MNREGA or as BOCW in past twelve months could register themselves with the Board to derive benefits of the scheme. 

Government increased marriage assistance from INR 35,000 to 51,000

The government has enhanced marriage assistance for registered workers and their two unmarried children from INR 35,000 to INR 51,000. 

Educational assistance also increased

CM Jai Ram increased the education assistance for children of registered workers enrolled in 1st standard to 8th standard. The enhanced assistance is from INR 7,000 to 8,000 for girl student, and from INR 3,000 to INR 5,000 for boy student. 

The girl student enrolled in 9th to 12th standard would get INR 11,000 while boys of these standards would be provided with INR 8,000, as assistance. 

In graduation classes, INR 16,000 would be provided for girl students, while it would be INR 12,000 for boys. In postgraduate and diploma courses the girl beneficiary would be given INR 21,000 instead of INR 20,000 and boys INR 17,000 instead of Rs. 15,000.
