How to Update or Correct PAN Card Details through Umang App?
PAN card holders can now update or correct the details marked on their Permanent Account Number themselves through the UMANG application. The application is a unified or collective platform for a couple of government services as well as upgradation of PAN card details.

The application is a unified or collective platform for a couple of government services as well as upgradation of PAN card details. Other PAN card-related services that is provided by the Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (Umang) app comprises navigating the nearby PAN card centres, making payments regarding PAN card, among others.
As we all know that Permanent Account Number is a 10-digit alphanumeric number allocated by the department of income tax and serves as an important ID proof for an individual. In addition, the number is necessary for various other financial dealings like filing of ITR, the opening of bank account and so on.
Method to Update Pan Card Details
To make the required update or changes in the PAN card via UMANG app, one must follow the steps given below:
Step 1. First you will have to access to the Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance or UMANG app. For this, download the app from the play store.
Step 2. After downloading the app, log in using your mobile number & click on the tab that reads 'My PAN'.
Step 3. Then you will be redirected to a page where you will find a number of PAN card related services. Here select the "Correction or Change in PAN card CSF". It is important to mention that CSF is a form that allows correction in the PAN card & needs to be submitted.
Step 4. Now again a new page will appear saying 'Application for correction (CSF)'. Here enter your PAN number & then click on the next button.
Step 5. Fill in the form & give the details that you want to correct. Click the submit button.
Step 6. At last, you will have to make the payment for getting your PAN card details corrected or updated. Now you can submit this form along with supporting documents at any of the PAN / National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) TIN-facilitation centre.
After verification of the required changes, the new PAN card with updated details will be sent at the correspondence address of the person.
How to track PAN Card status?
In order to track the status of the Permanent Account Number or PAN card, you can use the 'Pan Query' option available on ‘My PAN’. If the person wants to finish the process offline then he or she can download the correction form via 'Pan Query' and then submit it at the nearest PAN centre with the essential documents.
