ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Kolkata, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bengal-Jharkhand Development Cooperative Ltd. The partnership will focus on addressing critical challenges in fish and aquaculture production by combining cutting-edge research with grassroots-level implementation.

Highlighting the transformative potential of this initiative, Dr. Dey stated, “This MoU signifies a new chapter of innovation-driven rural development. By leveraging technology and expertise, we aim to create self-reliant communities through sustainable fisheries and aquaculture practices.”

BENJHARC, emphasized the importance of bridging research and community action. “Our collaboration with ICAR-ATARI marks a significant step forward. Together, we aim to empower rural farmers with the tools and knowledge needed to boost productivity while ensuring ecological balance,” said Pandit.

The partnership aligns with India’s broader goals of sustainable development and economic empowerment in rural regions. Initiatives under this collaboration will include training programs on advanced fish farming, workshops on scientific MP culture practices, and the establishment of model aquaculture units. These efforts aim to improve livelihoods, enhance food security, and contribute to the socio-economic growth of rural populations.
