In a notable development for citrus cultivation, ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (ICAR-CCRI) in Nagpur has entered into an agreement with Mahadhan Agritech Limited in Pune for contract research. The collaboration focuses on conducting field trials for a new water-soluble fertilizer formulation designed by Mahadhan Agritech Limited, targeting mandarin orange cultivation.

The agreement marks the culmination of efforts initiated during the CCRI-AiM 1.0 (ICAR-CCRI Agro-industry Meet) held on March 11-12, 2024. Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Director of ICAR-CCRI, highlighted the genesis of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Agro-industry Meet, where both parties laid the groundwork for collaborative research. Today's signing ceremony solidifies their commitment to fostering innovation and research in citrus cultivation.

Dr. Prashant Puri, Head R&D and Dr. Murlee Yadav, GM, Crop Manager from Mahadhan Agritech Limited, Pune, expressed their optimism regarding the partnership, emphasizing its potential to significantly benefit citrus growers nationwide. They lauded the expertise and resources brought forth by ICAR-CCRI, foreseeing a synergistic relationship that will contribute to the overall wellbeing of citrus farmers in the country.
