IISER Bhopal Appoints New Director Prof. Gobardhan Das

Professor Gobardhan Das, a distinguished immunologist with a Ph.D. in Immunology, has been appointed as the new Director of IISER Bhopal, bringing his extensive experience and leadership to the institute's multifaceted growth.

Prof. Gobardhan Das is the New Director of IISER Bhopal.

Professor Gobardhan Das has been appointed as the new Director of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal).

Before assuming this position, Prof. Das held the position of Professor and Chair of the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Prof. Das obtained a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Immunology – Host pathogen relationship, from the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh in 1997.

He is associated with reputed professional organizations such as Molecular Immunology Forum, and Guha Research Council. Prof. Das holds editorial positions as associate editor in PlosOne, Mycobacterial Diseases, Frontiers in Immunology, and, as reviewer in Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences USA, Blood, J. Exp. Med, J. Biological Chemistry, Cancer Research, Gastroenterology, Cell research, Microbiology Immunology, Eur. J. Immunol, PlosPathogens, Cellular Immunology, Microbiology and Immunology, Tuberculosis.

The Institute looks forward to the visionary leadership of Prof. Das for its multi-faceted growth under his guidance.

Prof. Das is the third Director since the inception of IISER Bhopal in 2008. He also holds honorary positions as an Adjunct Professor at Houston Methodist Research Institute, Houston, USA, and at Shoochow University, Suzhou, China.

The Institute fraternity warmly welcomes Professor Gobardhan Das as the new Director of IISER Bhopal.
