IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alert Across Multiple Regions as Southwest Monsoon Begins Withdrawal
IMD has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several regions across India, including Konkan, Goa, and Coastal Karnataka. Monsoon withdrawal continues from parts of Rajasthan, with further retreat expected in the next 24 hours.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall at isolated locations over several regions, including Konkan & Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Coastal Karnataka, West Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Gujarat Region, and South Interior Karnataka. The IMD highlighted active weather systems that will affect these areas in the coming days.
The Southwest Monsoon has started its withdrawal from parts of West Rajasthan and Kutch, with further retreat expected in Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat within the next 24 hours. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation over the Central Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a low-pressure area over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal, influencing weather patterns in several regions.

Heavy Rainfall: Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Coastal Karnataka on September 23rd and 24th, with extreme rainfall anticipated on the 24th. Similar conditions are forecast for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Kerala during this period.

West India

Heavy Showers: Assam, Meghalaya, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim can expect isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 25th and 26th. Odisha is likely to experience consistent heavy rain from September 23rd to 26th.
