IMD Warns of Heavy Rainfall, Severe Heatwave in These States for Next Few Days; Full Forecast Inside

IMD predicted heavy rainfall in the Northeastern parts of India.

IMD Forecasted Heavy Rainfall Over The States Of Meghalaya, Assam And Arunachal Pradesh

Heatwave alert

According to the IMD, on March 28 and 29, heatwave conditions are likely in isolated regions over west Rajasthan, south Haryana, and west Madhya Pradesh. It said that heatwave conditions are also likely in the isolated pockets of south Haryana from 28th to 30th March 2022.

Rainfall in India

Over the next five days, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Friday that the regions of Tamil Nadu, Karaikal, Karnataka, Mahe, Kerala, and Puducherry are likely to experience light to moderate isolated rain. Moreover, due to the wind disruption over south Peninsular India at lower tropospheric levels, secluded rainfall can be seen in coastline regions of Andhra Pradesh on the 25th and 26th of March and over Rayalaseema and Telangana. 

On March 26th, secluded light to a moderate rainstorm and lightning is also plausible over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Karaikal, and Puducherry. There is also a probability of rainfall over Mahe and Kerala today. 

The Met department forecasted that the south interior areas of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka would experience moderate to heavy rainfall over the weekend.

Northeastern Will Also Experience Rain And A Significant Rise In Temperature

Besides, Isolated thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds over the Northeast states on 26th March 2022

The states of Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, and Assam are also likely to receive heavy rainfall on 27th-30th March as the strong southwestern winds from the Bay of Bengal will flow over to northeastern states at low tropospheric levels.

IMD on Friday also predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorm over the Northeastern states of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam on the 26th.

Temperature in India

According to IMD, most Northeastern regions will not experience any changes in temperatures over the next 24 hours. However, after 2 days, the northeastern states will experience a rise up to 4 degrees.

Many Central and South peninsular regions of India will also not experience a change in temperature for the next 24 hours, however, over the next two days they are also likely to experience a rise of 2 to 4 degrees in temperature.
