Inauguration of Hands-on Training Workshop on Advanced Genomics and Phenomics Tools

The inauguration of an 11-day hands-on training workshop was held (karyashala) centered on "Advanced Genomics and Phenomics Tools for Augmenting Crop Nutritional Security in Hill Agriculture."

Dr. J.C. Bhatt, Former Director of ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Bhatt provided insights into the green revolution and underscored the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agricultural science. He emphasized AI's potential to revolutionize agriculture, fostering productivity, health, and sustainability in farming practices.

Dr. Lakshmi Kant, the Director of ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, shed light on the challenges faced in enhancing crop yield amidst shrinking land resources. He stressed the importance of biofortification as a cost-effective and scalable approach to ensuring nutritional security in agricultural production.
