The biggest festival of siblings, RakshaBandhan will be celebrated on August 3 this year. On this day, the sister wishes long life of her brother by tying the Raksha Sutra on his wrist. The festival of Raksha bandhan is a symbol of affection and love between sister and brother. However, this year Rakshabandhan will be celebrated under the shadow of Coronavirus.

Recall the occasions when you had affectionately tied a rakhi to your brother's wrist and offered him desserts, sweets, and chocolates, and consequently how he teased you before giving gifts? Changes of lives like professions or getting married and living in a different city or country is no more a reason to not to celebrate RakshaBandhan in the traditional way. Not even this epidemic Covid-19 can stop anyone from celebrating RakshaBandhan.

Keeping the difficulties tossed by Covid-19, the India Post has made an exceptional arrangement for the sisters on Rakshabandhan. Under which, the booking services have been begun to deliver rakhis for the siblings who are far away in lockdown.

Chandigarh Postal Division has started booking services for Rakhi. For the minimum interaction during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chandigarh Postal Division has introduced a separate 'Rakhi Mail Box' in post offices. This facility is available at 43 post offices in Chandigarh, 27 in Ropar, and 25 in Mohali. The postal office will attempt their best to deliver rakhis before Rakshabandhan.

They can deliver rakhis to brothers living in India along with 35 foreign countries and they are accepting the booking of rakhis over the world. Rakhis to foreign countries can only be sent through speed post.

For the quickest delivery, rakhi should be posted as quickly as possible. It can be sent through Ordinary Post, Registered Post as well as Speed Post across India. The cut-off date to sentrakhis for other states is July 25 and for Punjab and Chandigarh, it is July 28 to ensure delivery before August 2.

Meanwhile, Post offices in the Bihar division have also started selling colorful rakhi envelopes in various sizes and shapes for the RakhshaBandhan. Costs of water-proof and tamper-proof rakhi envelopes vary from Rs7 to Rs10, which are being sold at 466 post offices of all the 38 districts and sub-division across the state. The postal department has advised people to post the rakhi envelopes by July 25 for timely delivery amid the rising Coronavirus cases in Bihar and other states as well.
