Age criteria

Applicants from the unreserved category must be above 15 years but less than 24 years of age. For those belonging to SC and ST category the upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years. For backward class, the relaxation up to 3 years in the upper age limit is given.

Mode of Selection for Railway Apprentice

Selection for the post will be based on the merit list that would be prepared to take the average of the percentage of marks obtained by candidates in both matriculations (with minimum 50 percent (aggregate) marks) & ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.

Training Period

The selected candidates will have to undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 1 year.

Salary/Stipend of Railway Apprentice

Selected applicants engaged as Apprentices with Indian Railways will undergo Apprenticeship training for a period of 1 year and will be given a stipend during the training at the prescribed rate according to extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments.
