Passengers can book the tickets only if they link their Aadhar card with IRCTC.

Indian Railways Latest News: 24 tickets can now be reserved per month by passengers through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). But for this, they will have to make sure that their Aadhaar card is linked with IRCTC.

Those who haven’t linked their Ids can book only 12 tickets monthly. Prior to this change, passengers whose IDs were not linked could only book six tickets each month.

The Ministry of Railways posted the notice on its Twitter account. “To facilitate passengers, the limit of booking tickets has been increased to 24 tickets in a month if a user ID is Aadhaar linked and that one of the passengers in the ticket to be booked is verifiable through Aadhaar."

How to book 24 train tickets?

Only passengers whose accounts have been validated by IRCTC are eligible to take advantage of this. Follow the steps given below to book the tickets;

  • Log in to your IRCTC account, enter your travel information, and then make your reservations

  • Choose the train and class you want on the train page, then go to the book page.

  • Select an Aadhar-verified passenger from the list that appears after clicking on the passenger’s name on the passenger entry screen. All of the passengers from the master list will be included in the list.

  • The reservation form will automatically retrieve the passenger information. The IRCTC should only verify one specified passenger's Aadhar number. Other passengers should be typed manually.

  • Complete the booking procedure, evaluate the information, and confirm the Aadhar information under traveling passengers.

  • Choose the payment gateway method and carry on with the transaction.

  • Lastly, the passengers will get a confirmation page.

According to news reports, officials from the Railways said that the change would benefit frequent passengers as well as those who use the same IRCTC account to purchase train tickets for their family members.
