Speaker: Prof. Vasant Gandhi

Theme: “New trends and future perspective of Indian agriculture to meet out the challenges of population growth, climate change & sustainability, nutritional requirements and food habits of Indian population” Dr. Vasant Gandhi is NABARD Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). He has been member of the Board of Governors of IIM Ahmedabad, and the Chairman of its Centre for Management in Agriculture, as well as its Agri-Business Programme which is ranked no. 1 in the world. He did his Ph.D. from Stanford University, and is a Gold medallist of GB Pant University Pantnagar as well as IIM Ahmedabad. He has worked with the World Bank and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington. He has numerous books and over 100 research papers on topics ranging from food & agriculture policies, institutions & technology for agriculture, food security, as well as markets & agribusiness.
