The Million Farmer School (MFS) training programme of Master Trainers of Million Farmer School (Kisan Pathshala) was inaugurated by UP Minister of Agriculture, Agricultural Education and Agricultural Research Department, Surya Pratap Shahi on Friday, July 28, during an event organized at the Commissionerate auditorium.

He said the United Nations and the World Bank have applauded the concept of the  Million Farmer School started by the UP government.

What is Million Farmer School?

Established in 2017, the Million Farmers School (MFS) is a program initiated by the Department of Agriculture, Uttar Pradesh. It runs 15000 training programs twice a year and addresses millions of farmers. It provides practical as well as theoretical information to the farmers.

Moreover, he said that the repercussions of global warming are now affecting agriculture in India as the rain is uniform. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has pledged to plant 35 crore trees this year. While 30 crore have already been planted, the rest 5 crore will be planted on August 15.

"Master trainers are being prepared in Uttar Pradesh under Million Farmer School. We are planning to bring balance to the crop and weather conditions," he said.

Farmers in Unnao, where the two-day session will run, will be taught about increasing yield amid these weather conditions.

He also talked about stubble burning and said, “Farmers in this school will be taught how to use the agricultural waste in a better manner than burning it” as it creates severe health issues like asthma.

"More than 4000 crores have been given to farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna by PM Narendra Modi," he said.

Master trainers will be trained for two days. The program will begin in August. He also said that door-to-door services have been given to farmers during documentation. This has helped more than 10,00, 000 farmers.
