Post Office schemes are highly regarded for their investment options, catering to individuals of all ages. These schemes provide guaranteed returns with government backing, ensuring your money grows steadily without the risk of loss. Starting from July 1, the government has increased the interest rate for Post Office RD to 6.5%, up from the previous 6.2%. This RD scheme, which runs for 5 years, can be initiated with just Rs 100.

Know the Profits On RD of Rs 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 As Per The New Interest Rate

1. RD of Rs 2000

Starting a monthly RD with a deposit of Rs 2000 results in a yearly investment of Rs 24,000 and a total investment of Rs 1,20,000 over 5 years. At a 6.5% interest rate, the interest earned during this period is Rs 21,983, leading to a total maturity amount of Rs 1,41,983.

2. RD of Rs 3000

Alternatively, choosing a monthly deposit of Rs 3000 for a Post Office RD results in an annual investment of Rs 36,000 and a total of Rs 1,80,000 over 5 years. With an interest of Rs 32,972 earned during this period, the total maturity amount becomes Rs 2,12,972.

3. RD of Rs 4000

Opting for a monthly deposit of Rs 4000 in a Post Office RD leads to an annual investment of Rs 48,000 and a total of Rs 2,40,000 over 5 years. The interest accrued on this sum is Rs 43,968. In total, at maturity, combining the initial deposit and interest, you will receive Rs 2,83,968.

4. RD of Rs 5000

Starting a Post Office RD with a monthly deposit of Rs 5000 results in an annual investment of Rs 60,000, totaling Rs 3,00,000 over 5 years. At the end of this period, you'll accumulate Rs 54,954 in interest. In total, when you combine the principal and the interest earned, you will have Rs 3,54,954 after 5 years.
