How to download Special Assistance Yojana Mobile App?
The Special Assistance Scheme Mobile App can be downloaded from, https://covid19help.jharkhand.gov.in.
The Chief Minister after launching the app said, "This is an effort to reach out to the labour force stranded outside the state. Within a week, financial assistance will be made available to the states people who are outside the state."
DBT of Rs 2000 amid covid-19 lockdown:
The state Cabinet has decided to provide Direct Benefit Tax (DBT) of Rs 2000 in the accounts of the heads of the families who are outside the state & facing problems amid lockdown 2.0.
The state government has reached out to these people during the first phase of the lockdown. They got in touch with the state governments concerned. Soren added, “Continuous actions were being carried out to give maximum help to such people. During these difficult times, the government is sensitive & concerned about labourers, the poor, dalits, tribals & other needy people. As they have gone to other states for work due to lack of employment in the state. Thus, their problems increased amid lockdown."
Role of Jharkhand State Government to Help Labourers:
The CM said that the state government was doing its best to help the labourers and the poor. As per an official release, the Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs department has provided grains to more than 1.61 lakh people. Apart from making available grains to over 1.93 lakh people who are not covered under the public distribution system (PDS).
Till now, a total of 53,42,826 people were given ''Daal Bhaat'' yojana while 856 NGOs & volunteers have provided food to 23,88,428 people since the imposition of covid-19 lockdown to fight against the virus, it said.
The official release further mentioned, total 1,58,298 migrant labourers were given food in the relief camps started by the government. ''Emergency Relief Packets'' were also delivered to 42,326 needy people. The Health department mentioned that a total of 9,833 people are quarantined in 4,049 quarantine centres across the state. A total of 1,01,370 people have completed their quarantine period.
The Minister added that many other states including Bihar & Odisha have also tried to give financial assistance to migrant workers who are trapped outside. "A final call on our proposal of giving Rs.2000 to each of our migrant labourers stuck in other states will soon be taken,” he added.
He stated that after the end of the lockdown, several lakh people will return to Jharkhand, & the Government might urge the railways to provide free tickets to these people. He added, “Proper arrangements will be made for all their health check-ups. In this regard, quarantine centers are being built in community centers & panchayat buildings on a large scale. Only after screening, people will be allowed to go to their homes & stay in home quarantine for 14 days."
He said, "After April 20, huge relaxation will be provided in the farming sector. MNREGA schemes will start from April 20, for which required funds have been given by Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. Also, exemption will be provided to work in the brick kiln."
