Jharkhand Government Sends 24 Women Farmers to Israel

With the aim to link farming community of Jharkhand with the advanced agro technology, 24 women farmers of the State were sent to Israel on a four day trip by CM Raghuvar Das’ government.

With the aim to link farming community of Jharkhand with the advanced agro technology, 24 women farmers of the State were sent to Israel on a four day trip by CM Raghuvar Das’ government. 

On the lines of providing equal opportunity to women workforce, the Government of Jharkhand for the first time has provided such an opportunity. The women farmers shall study about advanced practices in Israel, which is a world leader in agricultural Research and Development.

At the Chief Minister’s residence in Ranchi, an interactive session was held with the farmers on Sunday. The CM motivated the team and advised the women to collect inputs about cooperative farming, drip irrigation system, dairy culture, pisciculture and organic farming techniques. He announced that post the training, farmers will work as ‘Master Trainers’ at their respective districts. Das encouraged the team to develop curiosity and learn new agro-technology for the better outcome.  

Earlier, the state government had sent only male farmers to Israel. The women delegation is accompanied by women official and is excited to have an enriching experience. “The women team will gain knowledge out of this trip and will emerge as role models in their respective districts,” said Puja Singhal, Agriculture Secretary. 

Overwhelmed to be a part of the team, Amrita Kumari, a farmer said, “For the first time, I am going out of my country. I am excited and will try to learn advanced agro-techniques there.” 

Israel’s agricultural techniques are known globally for their efficiency.The government and farmers hope to bring home knowledge and transform our agricultural processes for better outcomes.
