Kannada Actor Kichcha Sudeep to Adopt 31 Cows Under State Govt Scheme
Sudeep performed 'Gau Puja' at the residence of Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu B Chauhan on Thursday and praised the state government for its work in cow conservation.
On Thursday, actor Kichcha Sudeep announced that he will adopt 31 cows, one for each district in Karnataka, as part of the Punyakoti Dattu Yojana. The scheme's goal is to make cowsheds financially sound with the public's help. Karnataka is the first state in the country to implement such a program.
"The government has increased my responsibilities by appointing me as the Punyakoti Dattu Yojana ambassador. I'd like to express my gratitude to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Minister Prabhu Chavan for appointing me," Sudeep stated. Sudeep asked the general public and artists' organizations in the film industry to adopt cows.
On his birthday earlier this year, Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai adopted 11 cows and launched his dream cow adoption scheme, Punyakoti. When minister Prabhu Chavan announced that he had adopted 31 cows, one for each district, Sudeep told the minister that he, too, would adopt cows.
Following the implementation of the Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act in the state of Karnataka, up to 100 Goshalas have been established.
It is the first state in the country to implement the Punyakoti Adoption Scheme. According to the minister, many programmes have been implemented, including the establishment of the Animal Welfare Board, Animal Helpline Center, Pashu Sanjeevini Ambulance, Gomata Cooperative Society, and Atma Nirbhar Goshala.
In terms of maintenance costs, each cow will receive Rs 11,000 per year under the Cattle Adoption Scheme. The general public can donate a minimum of ten rupees to any of the Goshalas in Punyakoti Dattu Portal for infrastructure and other expenses.
The goal of this scheme is to make Goshalas financially sound and run smoothly with the help of the general public. Under the Cattle Feeding Scheme, cow adoption, donations to Goshala, and public participation in cattle rearing are all available.
Prabhu Chavan asked actor Sudeep to collaborate with the government on the cow conservation programme. On the same occasion, actor Sudeep was presented with a letter of appointment as a Punyakoti Dattu Yojana ambassador and a memento.
