KJ Choupal: George Kallivayalil, Journalist, Columnist, Chief of Bureau, Deepika Daily Visits Krishi Jagran

A journalist holds the power to change the way you look at things. To educate the public about events and issues and how they affect their lives. In a world of expanding voices, “getting it right” is the foundation upon which everything else is built – context, interpretation, comment, criticism, analysis, and debate. A journalist should always be true to his audience and only rely on facts.

Today, KJ Choupal was honoured with the presence of George Kallivayalil, Journalist, Columnist, and Chief of Bureau, Deepika daily, New Delhi. He has experience of 30+ years in the field of journalism and has been working with Deepika since the beginning of his career.

He appreciated the young, talented and passionate KJ Team and said that he is thrilled to see the interest and passion which he could clearly see in the eyes of every member of Krishi Jagran Team. He congratulated his close friend and Editor-in-Chief of Krishi Jagran, MC Dominic for leading his team towards success and doing wonderful work for the farming community.

He further said, “Because of my interest in agriculture, whenever I get a chance, I take it. Today, I’m here and I’m impressed by the young journalists and the work you do.”

When he was asked about what actually inspired him to enter the field of journalism, he said that initially, he had a different profession in mind. He pursued MBBS and in his final year, he realized that he was not passionate about this field. That is when he realized his interest towards journalism and hence became a journalist.

He believes that one should not be a part of journalism just for money and should rather be focusing on the experience and knowledge they can get from it. And that's what helped him to succeed in this field.
