Know Where There Will be Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorm on 25th & 26th July

The monsoon trough is in its near normal position and is active with two embedded cyclonic circulations. A low pressure area is very likely to form over coastal areas of West Bengal by tomorrow.  The rainfall activity has increased over central India, Northern Plains and Western Himalayan region since yesterday. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy falls are likely over south Haryana and north Rajasthan today.

Widespread rainfall is also likely over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab in next 48 hours. Strong wind convergence along the northern parts of West Coast is likely to cause widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Konkan & Goa and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during next 4-5 days.

Isolated extremely heavy falls are also likely over this region mainly on 26th and 28th July. Widespread rain with isolated heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy falls are likely over north Gujarat on 28th and 29th July 

Rain/Thundershowers observed at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep; at many places over East Rajasthan, Assam & Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Gangetic West Bengal, East Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Punjab, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and at isolated places over West Rajasthan, Marathwada and Telangana.

Rainfall recorded at 0830 hrs IST today - Palghar-24; Tamini-18; Bagrakote-16; Karkala-14; Alibag-13; Jammu & Nazibabad -10 each; Matheran -9; Bhagalpur, Ratanagiri, Honavar and Chennai -8 each; Jaipur, Sheopur, Darjeeling and Shanti Niketan - 7 each; Katra, Bhiwani, Kota, Nowgong, Umaria, Baghdogra, Purulia and Karwar-6 each. 

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan & Goa,  Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Coastal Karnataka and Jammu & Kashmir,  Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

Thunderstorm observed at many places over Gangetic West Bengal; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and Odisha and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Marathawada and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam. 

 Maximum temperature departures as on 24-07-2019: Maximum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over West Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha; at a few places over Rajasthan and East Madhya Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Marathwada; at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Gujarat region; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at Many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam; at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha and at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal. They were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at most places over East Uttar Pradesh and at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over Assam & Meghalaya, Bihar and Coastal Karnataka and isolated places over Kerala & Mahe and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 42.3°C was recorded at Ganganagar( West Rajasthan). 

Minimum temperature departures as on 25-07-2019: Minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Saurashtra & Kutch and West Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places over Rajasthan, Sub-Himalaya West Bengal & Sikkim and Vidarbha; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat region and Telangana; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal; They are below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and Bihar and at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country.
