World Soil Day is celebrated every year on 5th December to spread awareness about the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of the soil resource.
The International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) in 2002, adopted a resolution proposing that 5th December be marked as World Soil Day to celebrate the importance of soil as a critical component of the natural system and as a vital contributor to human well being.
In order to celebrate the same, Krishi Jagran is organizing a webinar on “Significance of Controlling Soil Salinity” on 5th December 2021 at 12 noon on Zoom. Various dignitaries from across the industry will be sharing their thoughts on the same. The webinar will be streamed live on the official Facebook Page of Krishi Jagran.
Managing the correct amount of salts in the soil is crucial for the development of plants. As the salinity in the soil increase, the water becomes less & less likely to enter the root.
In fact, when the soil salinity levels are beyond a certain point, the water in the soil gets pulled back into the soil. The plants become unable to take in enough water to grow.
Therefore, we have invited experts who will help us understand how to manage salinity in soil.
