Krishi Mela (Rabi) began on 08 September 2021 in Hisar under the theme "Water Conservation". The mela that is being organized by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) will end today (9 September)

Krishi Jagran team also attended the Krishi Mela (Rabi) and interacted with farmers and companies like Advanta, Ace, ICL, and many others.

In this fair, one progressive farmer from each district of Haryana was honored. For this, a list of farmers has also been prepared. The government has asked the farmers across the state to participate in this fair so that they can be made aware of the new farming techniques.

The farmers of India are slowly becoming aware. They are now using newer techniques in farming. Central and state governments are also encouraging them by bringing various types of schemes. Under this, every state government also organizes Krishi Mela to give information about new crops and technology to the farmers.

Objectives of the Agricultural Fair:

  • To educate the farmers about new types of profitable crops and techniques.

  • To increase the enthusiasm of other farmers about farming by honoring the farmers.

  • Increase profits in farming with the help of the given information.

The reason behind the theme-' Water Conservation':

Water conservation is an emergent issue that needs to be addressed on part of the policy planners, researchers, extension workers, and other stakeholders including farmers. This Krishi Mela (Rabi) has facilitated a good platform for the farming community to interact with university experts. The visiting farmers have provided cost-effective and innovative solutions to water conservation in the agriculture sector.

Many states of India are facing a water crisis. The water level is continuously going down in many districts of Haryana too. Farmers can be made aware of this situation, so this time the theme of the fair has been kept on water conservation. In this agricultural fair, farmers were being informed about the crisis in life due to the wastage of water. Along with this, they will also be told that for which crops how much irrigation is needed, so that there is no unnecessary wastage of water.

Thousands of farmers have participated in the fair and discussed many problems. To solve these problems, committees of agricultural scientists have been formed. Farmers can get all information related to their crops, technology, seeds, and farming from the members involved in these committees.
