The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) will release the 2nd list of provisionally selected students for admission to Class 1 today, (9th April 2019) on its official website – www.kvsangathan.nic.in.

After the second admission list of selected students, the third list will be released on 23rd April, 2019, if seats remain vacant. It must be noted that Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will release the second as well as third merit list on the basis of the availability of seats.  The online registration process for admission in class 1 in various Kendriya Vidyalayas for the new academic session started on 19th March, 2019.

In the meantime, the registration process for class 2 and above (except class 11) will also end today evening – 9th April 2019. The admission process began last week.  In addition, application forms for class 11 will be issued offline after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declares class 10 result. This year, the board has decided to announce class 10 results early as compared to previous years.  The admission process will begin within 10 days after declaration of shortlisted candidates list by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Age limit for admission in class 1

A Child should be 5 years old as on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. (Child born on 1st April will also be considered.) Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan said, "The maximum age limit can be relaxed by 2 years in case of Differently-abled students by the Principal".

To recall, in 2018, around 6, 48,941 students had applied for more than one lakh seats in the Kendriya Vidyalayas. As the admission process is online, KVS had released the list on time for the convenience of students as well as parents. The list will also be available on the official website of the individual schools.

There are around 1,137 Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country. Hence the students will be shortlisted as per the priority category.
