Update Aadhar in Local Language

Aadhar card is considered one of the most important documents for every Indian Citizen. An Aadhar card is required for the financial transaction & even for availing the benefit of any government scheme as it holds an individual’s biometric information & address as well. The information on the Aadhar card is written in the English language, but now it is available in different regional languages as well. 

The Unique Identification Authority of India is its latest update has announced to provide the facility to generate Aadhar in regional languages. These regional language cards will be issued on behalf of the Aadhar card issuing body.

After the current update of Aadhar, now you will be able to get an Aadhar card in Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Marathi, Karnataka, Gujarati & Oriya languages. If you want to change the language in your Aadhar card, then you have to apply online for the same.

It might take 1 to 3 weeks for the language to get updated. You can also visit an Aadhar Seva Kendra & get your local language changed or else apply online for the same.

Steps to Change Language in Aadhar Card 

Here is how you change Language in Aadhar Card;

  • First of all, visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India.

  • There will be an option “Update Aadhar” will appear on the homepage. Click on “Update Demographic Data Online”.

  • You will be re-directed to the Aadhar Self Service Update Portal.

  • Open the portal & enter 12- digit unique Aadhar number & the Captcha Security Code.

  • Enter details & click on send “One Time Password”.

  • Enter the OTP & click on “log-in”.

  • Once you are logged in, and then press the “Update Demographics Data Button”.

  • The page holds, all of the Demographic Data. Now, select your preferred language here.

    Update the demographics in popup & submit. Make sure your name is pronounced correctly in the local language.

  • Now, edit all the information similarly & before submitting the application, do not forget to preview all details.

  • After this, an OTP will be sent on your registered mobile number, enter the OTP.

  • Submit fee of Rs 50. Once the payment is done, the new language update request in your Aadhar will be successfully submitted.

  • This update might take around 1 to 3 weeks & later, you can easily download the card.
