The Delhi University or DU Admissions 2019 have once again been delayed. The DU registration process was expected to start today, 27th May 2019 but now it will begin after few more days. However there is no exact information regarding the date when the DU admission process would commence.

According to the available information, the admission process is being delayed again and again because the DU’s admission committee has not yet finalized on the agency that will conduct the entrance exams for admission to few courses.

Last year, the DU admission process was started on 15th May, 2018. The standing committee on admissions had said that this year the process should start by 27th May, 2019. Dean of Student's Welfare, Rajeev Gupta told that the dates for entrance tests are not yet finalised.

He said, "The portal is the same for merit-based courses as well as entrance exam based courses. The admission process will begin once the dates are finalised. We are yet to finalise the agency that will conduct the entrance exams.

An official had earlier informed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the entrance exams for various DU courses. Gupta further said that the admission process would be finalised in the coming week.

In addition there are reports that some technical glitches are coming up during the testing process of the server, which is causing postponement for the admission announcement. However, the server is going through the testing process. Some problems are arising because of many new features in the offing.

Moreover, the standing committee suggested that there must be several payment gateways for students to make admissions which are being analyzed. A DU official said, "The standing committee had proposed that there should be tie-ups with e-wallets & other payment gateways so that candidates can easily pay the fee."

The official added that "Earlier, there was only one payment gateway that would lead to the server crashing but having numerous gateways will ease the process." The DU admission committee is yet to approve the suggestions of the standing committee.

Students must keep an eye on the DU website for all latest information.
