Light Shower Predicted Over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal; Wintery Veil Prevails in Delhi-NCR

The weather department of India has issued light to moderate rainfall very likely over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during next 2-3 days under the influence low pressure. As per reports, the Low-Pressure Area lies over Nagaland and neighbouring northeastern states where the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. Moreover, a chilling wintery vail prevails in the Delhi-NCR region and minimum temperature drastically fall to 2- 3°C during the night time. Minimum temperatures are very likely to fall over northwest, east & adjoining central India by 2-3°C during the next 2 days, said the weather department.

Moreover, a chilling wintery vail prevails in the Delhi-NCR region and minimum temperature drastically fall to 2- 3°C during the night time. Minimum temperatures are very likely to fall over northwest, east & adjoining central India by 2-3°C during the next 2 days, said the weather department.

Jammu Kashmir and few regions of Himachal witnessed fresh snowfall on Monday night while it leaves Srinagar without power for three days.

“Due to snowfall, people have got some comfort but at the same time, the troubles too have mounted. For the last three days, there is no electricity. Roads are closed. We appeal to the government to restore electricity. It is difficult even to move", said a resident of Srinagar.

Moreover, cyclone 'Bulbul', which barrelled through the coastal districts of West Bengal claimed at least 10 lives and affected at least 2.73 Lakh families on Sunday, says the official reports.

The Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Afghanistan & neighbourhood and extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. The associated trough with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level now runs roughly along long. 62°E to the north of Lat. 24°N”, said Indian Meteorological Department in its morning bulletin.

As per yesterday’s report, many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam & Meghalaya, Kerala & Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal witnessed light shower along with thunderstorm.

Moreover, maximum temperatures were reported above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Lakshadweep; at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala & Mahe and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal while minimum temperatures were recorded above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Gujarat Region; at many places over West Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over East Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Nagaland, Manipur.
