LinkedIn Report: 82% of Indian Workforce Considering Job Change in 2022

Despite the pandemic, India's workforce is optimistic more about the future of work, with 82 % intending to change jobs in 2022, as per new job-seeker research from professional networking platform LinkedIn.

According to the job-seeker research, the "Great Reshuffle" in India is being driven by freshers with up to one year of work experience (94 %) and Gen Z professionals (87 %), who are more likely to explore changing jobs in 2022.  

Based on the replies of 1,111 professionals, the poll found that many want to quit their present jobs owing to a lack of work-life balance (30%), a lack of money (28%), or higher career ambitions (23%). Professionals in India said flexible working conditions will be a top priority when seeking new jobs in the new year. 

Better pay (42%), greater appreciation (36%), and improved work-life balance are among the top reasons that professionals in India will stay with their present job in 2022. (34%). However, the findings also show a significant disparity in men's and women's perceptions of how they are compensated by their present employers today. 

According to the report, working women (37%) are 1.3 times more likely than working males to quit their present job owing to a lack of work-life balance (28%). When compared to working males, they are considerably more likely (49%) to indicate they will stay with their present employment if they get an increase (39%). "This may serve as a wake-up call for employers to reconsider their compensation package and promote more inclusivity," LinkedIn said. 

"The pandemic has caused individuals to reassess their jobs and hunt for new work opportunities to match their new life purpose and priorities. As trust in new prospects rises, it is apparent that the Great Reshuffle in India is being led by job seekers, and talent is in the driver's seat right now — with flexibility as their main objective
