Following the 15th India-UK Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) held here, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that the program would be inaugurated on February 28.

The British team was led by Philip Barton, Permanent Under-Secretary, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, with Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra representing India. Barton also spoke with S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs.

What is the Young Professionals Scheme?

For up to two years, the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme will provide 3,000 degree-educated Indian citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 with the opportunity to live and work in the UK.

Those between the ages of 18 and 30 can apply for the scheme.

Due to the reciprocal nature of the scheme, UK professionals in a similar situation would also be able to take part by relocating to and working in India.

The scheme will launch in March 2023.

You do not need to have a job offer to apply for a visa.

According to High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami, the scheme would begin in March 2023 and last for three years. Indian and British nationals are permitted to visit, study, or work in each other's countries for a two-year period.

3,000 candidates will be traded between the two nations. It is not necessary to have a job offer in order to apply for this visa, according to Vikram Doraiswami.
