Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Polls to be Held in 7 Phases from 11 April; Counting on 23 May; Check Full List

The Election Commission (EC) today, 10th March said that the Lok Sabha elections 2019 will be held in seven phases. Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora told that the Model Code of Conduct has come into force as it has declared the schedule for the 17th Lok Sabha elections. The elections will begin on 11th April and will go on till 19th May. The counting will be done on 23rd May.

The CEC told media that the Commission has started preparing for polls for quite some time. It had organized meetings with election commissioners of all the states and UTs. Several rounds of discussions were conducted with the MHA and other departments such as railways for smooth conduct of lOk Sabha elections 2019.

Regarding the number of voters, Sunil Arora told that the total electorate will be in the vicinity of 900 million of which 15 million are in the age group of 18 to 19 years.
