In Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district on Monday, BJP employees and farmers allegedly clashed with one another. As per news reports, many have been injured in the clash.

Jayant Chaudhary, leader of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), tweeted about the incident saying that, ‘a dispute broke out between BJP leaders and farmers in the village of Soram leaving many wounded. If there is no talk in favor of the farmer, at least preserve good conduct. The farmer's honour?! Now should the farmers and villagers accept the hooliganism of government officials who tell them the advantages of the new laws?

The incident was registered from the village of Soram in the area of Shahpur Police Station. Congress chief Priyanka Gandhi addressed a public meeting in Muzaffarnagar district earlier on February 20. Since last year, farmers have been demonstrating against the Centre's proposed agricultural laws. The demonstrations have hit many Uttar Pradesh districts from the Delhi border, such as Muzaffarnagar and Shamli, where 'mahapanchayats' are organized to condemn the rules.
