Maruti Suzuki Announces Management Reshuffle: Partho Banerjee as Head of Marketing & Sales

Maruti Suzuki, the renowned automobile manufacturer, has announced changes in its leadership roles. Partho Banerjee will now take over as the new Head of Marketing and Sales, replacing Shashank Srivastava. Shashank, in turn, transitions to a new role as a Member of the Executive Committee, effective April 1, 2024.

Banerjee, who previously held the position of Head- Service, will also become a Member of the Executive Committee. In turn, Ram Suresh Akella, currently an Executive Officer in the Marketing Vertical, will assume the role of Head- Service. These leadership transitions will come into effect from April 1, 2024.

Both Banerjee and Akella bring extensive experience to their new roles, having been associated with Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) for over three decades. Banerjee has served the company for 34 years in various capacities including Sales, Marketing, and Production Engineering. Akella, with over 31 years of experience, has held roles such as Sales and Network Head at the Arena channel and Commercial Business Head of the South region.

More About Partho Banerjee

Partho Banerjee began his career journey with Maruti after graduating from IIT Kanpur in 1989. Initially involved in setting up manufacturing lines for new models and automation, this experience provided him with valuable insights into project management.

Over time, he transitioned across various departments within the company, including Marketing & Sales, where he started as a Product Manager for flagship brands like WagonR. His technical background proved beneficial in effectively communicating customer expectations to the R&D team.

Subsequently, he assumed roles such as Commercial Business Head in Sales, Dealer Development, and Used Car Sales Business.​
