Millets & Organics International Trade Fair 2023 to Kick Off from January 20
The fourth edition of the 'Millets and Organics-International Trade Fair' will be held from January 20 to 22 at the Tripura Vasini Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Exhibitions, farmer workshops, conferences, and food courts featuring millets and organic food will be part of the fair.
The department of agriculture is organizing a three-day fair at Tripuravasini Palace Ground in collaboration with Karnataka State Agricultural Produce Processing and Export Corporation Limited (KAPPEC) and the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA).
B C Patil, minister of agriculture, unveiled the website for the fourth edition of the international trade fair during a press conference on January 5. The fair will include an exhibition with over 300 stalls from over 110 companies, as well as an international pavilion with organizations from around the world.
In addition, an international conference titled 'Millets, Organic and Natural Farming: Opportunities and Challenges' will be held. According to the minister, the fair will also include a workshop to introduce farmers to beneficial scientific developments in the organics, millets, and natural farming sectors.
There will also be buyer-seller meetings to connect wholesale and bulk buyers from across India with farmers and producers to facilitate trade deals and new market opportunities, including exports.
The fair will also feature the Karnataka pavilion, which will highlight the state's smart agricultural practises and policies, as well as a large food court featuring millets and organic delicacies.
Officials from the organising committee also announced that a walkathon will be held on January 14 at Cubbon Park to raise awareness about millets, organics, and natural farming as a prelude to the fair.
Participants in the international pavilion will come from South Korea, Germany, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and the Netherlands. There will also be stalls selling produce from Kerala, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh.
