Ministry of Ayush Gears Up for ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath’ Initiative as Part of Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign
The Ministry of Ayush's multifaceted engagement underscores its commitment to advancing holistic health, cleanliness, and well-being in India.
The Ministry of Ayush, responsible for promoting traditional Indian systems of medicine, is set to actively participate in the ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath’ initiative as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign on October 1, 2023.
With a strong commitment to promoting cleanliness and holistic well-being, the Ministry of Ayush has planned over 220 events to engage its National Institutes, Research Councils, and subordinate organizations.
This significant participation in the ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath’ initiative reflects the Ministry of Ayush's dedication to advancing the cause of cleanliness and health. Additionally, the National Commission of Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) will actively contribute to this campaign, leveraging their extensive networks comprising more than 750 colleges.
Recognizing the importance of grassroots efforts, the Ministry of Ayush has called upon various states and Union Territories to join in the ‘shramdaan’ activity at all Ayush Health and Wellness Centers operating under the National Ayush Mission (NAM). Furthermore, over 100 Institutions and Organizations under the Ministry of Ayush across India are poised to participate in this laudable initiative.
Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, emphasized the significance of genuine ground-level activities during a meeting held at Ayush Bhawan on September 25, 2023. He encouraged officials and heads of institutions, stating that genuine ground activities based campaign in a participatory mode should be ensured.
To ensure the success of this campaign, the Ministry has appointed a nodal officer of Joint Secretary level who will oversee the preparation of the entire campaign and activities scheduled for October 1, 2023, across India. The overarching theme for SHS 2023 is "Garbage Free India." The Ministry of Ayush is actively involved in this mission, which includes the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign from September 15 to October 2, 2023, and the disposal of pending matters (SCDPM) 3.0.
In addition to their commitment to the ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath’s initiative, the Ministry of Ayush is actively participating in the Ayushman Bhav Campaign. This involves organizing weekly Ayush Health Melas across India through its Ayush Health and Wellness Centers under the National Ayush Mission.
To date, more than 580 'Health Melas' have been organized under this campaign, benefiting more than 28,000 people. This campaign remains ongoing, with approximately 8000 functional Ayush Health and Wellness Centers poised to continue their efforts to promote health and well-being across the nation.
