Monsoon Covers All India, Heavy Rainfall in These States During the Next 5 Days
Up till July 12, Vidharbha, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh will also see severe rainfall. Meanwhile, on July 9, coastal Karnataka was also anticipated to have sporadic heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely severe rains.
The Southwest Monsoon is causing rain to fall in several areas of India. Throughout the next five days, active monsoon conditions are predicted to persist over central India and along the west coast. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that on July 9 and 10, rainfall activity will rise over northwest India.
Over the next few days, there is expected to be significant rainfall in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat state, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and Karnataka.
On July 9 and 10, over the Gujarat region, in Saurashtra and Kutch till July 11, over Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, and west Madhya Pradesh on July 10, and over Saurashtra and Kutch until July 11. Coastal Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam in south-central Karnataka will all have similar weather until July 12. Mumbai, the state capital of Maharashtra, and the nearby Thane district have been placed on red alert.

In its weather report, the IMD noted that "isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over Konkan & Goa during next 5 days; north Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Chhattisgarh on 08th; Telangana on 08th & 09th; Gujarat Region on 08th, 11th & 12th; Saurashtra & Kutch on 08th & 12th; and over ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on 08th, 09th. The likelihood of isolated to scattered rainfall activity over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal over the next five days is also quite high.
Over the next few days, there will be a lot of rain in the north and northwest India. Isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated to occur across Jammu and Kashmir on July 10; Himachal Pradesh on July 8, 9, 11, and 12; and over Uttarakhand on July 8, 11, and 12. It said, "Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall also likely over Himachal Pradesh on July 10; Uttarakhand on July 09 & 10."
Heavy rain is predicted to fall in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan over the next three to four days. On July 10, sporadic heavy to very heavy rain is expected over parts of north Punjab, north Haryana, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan.
