Narendra Singh Tomar Delivers Keynote Address at Krishi Sanyantra Mela 2023

Sanyantra Mela 2023 provides a unique opportunity to reach out to over 10000+ farmers from the State and other key stakeholders in the food and agriculture system in the country.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar lauded the efforts of Krishi Jagran for felicitating progressive farmers of Odisha

Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar delivered the keynote address via a video message at Krishi Jagran’s ‘Krishi Sanyantra Mela 2023’ under the theme of “Explore the Unexplored: Affluent Agri-Odisha” at Karuda Field in Balasore, Odisha on 25th March 2023.

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Production- Parshottam Rupala, MP of Balasore- Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Deputy General Manager of SBI (LHO)- Dhruva Charan Bala were also present at inauguration of Krishi Sanyantra Mela 2023. This aim of this fair is to provide a platform to Farmers, Agri-Entrepreneur, Manufacturers, Dealers & Distributors, Scientists, Government Bodies, Associations, and other related stakeholders to showcase their products, services and latest technologies to potential consumers & farmers.   

Narendra Singh Tomar expressed his disappointment at not being able to attend the fair owing to very hectic schedules, although he want to be present at the venue alongside other dignitaries.

Delivering the keynote address, Tomar expressed his gratitude to Krishi Jagran for organising the fair. He praised the fair on behalf of the Indian government and reaffirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment towards the country’s farmers.

Tomar said that the center & state governments are running various important schemes for the welfare of farmers, including improving their income. The Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Program provides farmers with an annual income assistance of Rs. 6,000. Under PM Kisan scheme, Rs 2.24 lakh crore has been transferred directly into the accounts of 11.5 crore farmers across the country. Farmers of Odisha are also benefiting from these initiatives and improving their economic condition.

Furthermore, he acknowledged that the Krishi Sanyantra Mela will benefit farmers by modernising and improving their farming techniques. Individuals will undoubtedly understand technologies and make progress in farming by using modern farm machineries.

Tomar concluded his address by appreciating Krishi Jagran's efforts in honouring the state's progressive farmers on the occasion, congratulating awardee farmers, and thanking Pratap Chandra Sarangi for such a programme.
