Since 2014, 26th November is celebrated as the National Milk Day to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Verghese Kurien– father of India’s white revolution, also known as the ‘Milk Man of India’.

During the webinar A N Dwivedi talked about the entire journey of Dr. Verghese Kurien, who is known as the Father of the White Revolution in India, He said that DR. Kurien was a well-known Indian social entrepreneur, who is still famous for his ‘Operation Flood’, which is known as the world’s largest agricultural program.
He established 30 institutions that are run by various farmers and workers. Dr. Kurien also played a key role in the establishment and success of Amul Brand. Because of his efforts only, India became the largest producer of milk in 1998, surpassing the U.S.

It covers almost 9 districts & deals with 4 Mini Dairy Plant, which is located at Khargone, Jhabua, Badwani & Burhanpur & 11 Milk Chilling Centers located at Pholgawadi, Chapda, Dudhi, Sonkatch, Konnod, Tonkkurdh, Khandwa, Badwah, Petlawad, Sendhwa & Aambua in its area of operation. The main Diary plant of 4.00 lakh liters per day capacity is located at Chanda Talawali, Mangaliya on the Outskirt of Indore City.
The dairy development activities in the rural areas include the conduct of survey of the villages having milk potential organizing the primary milk cooperative societies under the MP Cooperative Societies Act 1960, enrolling the milk producers as its member, inducting cattle, collecting milk from them imparting training, supporting Technical input services & extending the benefits under various State/Central government schemes.
