National Seminar on Ozone Layer and Its Effect on Livestock Held on September 16

On the occasion of International Ozone Day i.e. on 16 September, the Institute of Livestock Management and Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India organized one-day virtual National Seminar on Ozone Layer and Its Effect on Livestock.

On the occasion of International Ozone Day i.e. on 16 September, the Institute of Livestock Management and Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India organized one-day virtual National Seminar on Ozone Layer and Its Effect on Livestock.

Krishi Jagran was the official media partner of the event.

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Purushottam Rupala was the Chief Guest of the event. In his address, Rupala gave emphasis on the participation of NGOs in promoting government schemes, especially in the field of livestock health.

Other Guest Speakers included Dr. Niloy Khare, Advisor and Head Outreach, MoES, GoI, Dr. K.K. Singh, Advisor and Head Agromet Services India Meteorological Department, MoES GOI, Dr Jagvir Singh Scientist/Director MoES GOI, Dr Ram Sanehi, Deputy Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture, GoI, Dr. R.S. Kureel, Director cum Vice Chancellor, IHT and Member-NEP 2020, Dr RK Doharey, HOD Extension Education NDUAT Ayodhya UP, MC Dominic, Founder & Editor in Chief, Krishi Jagran & Agriculture World, Sneha Kumari, Research Scientist, Department of Microbiology, RIMS Ranchi, Mayur Gautam Research Scholar JMIU, New Delhi, Dr. Priti Rai Asst. Pro. cum Junior Scientist ILM (Project Coordinator).

MC Dominic, Founder & Editor in Chief, Krishi Jagran & Agriculture World, highlighted the role of Media in raising & spreading awareness about important days and issues not only to the elite class but to the common people, especially to the farming community.

In this program Chander Mohan, Vice President- Govt. Affairs, Krishi Jagran presented a video on Poultry Farm. Besides this, an interview of Dr. Ranjit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Institute of Livestock Management, Sonipat was also taken. At the same time, various topics were discussed in this program on ozone layer and its effect on livestock, livestock management etc.

On this occasion, awareness about ozone layer was shared among school children by organizing various activities like Talks/Speech, Slogan Writing, Drawing Competition and Tree Plantation Competition etc. Saroj Bala, Principal, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Larsauli, Murthal, Haryana along with other teachers also participated in all the programs.

Nisha Kumari, Principal, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mansarovar Garden, New Delhi also participated in this webinar by organizing a competition among school students and distributed prizes to the winners. There were 12 award-winners in each school.

Dr RS Kuril, Director and Vice Chancellor Institute of Horticulture Technology moderated the webinar and briefed about the future plan of the Institute of Livestock Management to conduct Short Training Courses for the benefit of animal lovers and other interested people and suggested to take poultry farming as a business.
