NDMC & PWD Decorate Delhi with Tulips from Netherlands to Welcome Foreign Guests for G20 Summit

The tulip festival aims to exhibit the beauty of the tulips and attract tourists from all over India and abroad. The festival will include a week-long walk from Shanti Path, starting on February 18 and concluding on February 26, and a photography contest that will run from February 14-25. 

The NGO 'Give me Trees Trust,' which has been associated with landscaping Sunder Nursery, has developed the content of the walk, keeping in mind the monuments around the history of Shanti Path and the variety of tulips that are being grown in the area.

The NDMC has also set up selfie points, heart-shaped flower decks, and recycling waste like cycle wheels to display flowers. The council has also planned to post the three best pictures of tulips on social media every day to showcase the beauty of the tulips.

The Public Works Department (PWD) is also preparing for the G20 Summit, scheduled on March 1 and 2, by installing unique all-season plants and flowers on key roads and VIP routes. The department plans to plant shrubs and trees, ranging from 25 cm to 120-135 cm tall, and enhance the horticulture beauty alongside roads, especially those connecting to the airport, Pragati Maidan, and other VIP routes. 

As the spring season is here, the department plans to plant different types of flowers on important routes like Anuvrat Marg, Aurobindo Marg, ORR, Ring Road, Mathura Road, DDU Marg, and others. 

Officials said flowers and plants like amaltash, terminalia arjuna plant, Buddha Valley Bamboo, and bougainvillea will be planted on either side of roads, central median, and lawns. Further, summer plants like Petunia hybrids in different colors, coxcomb, and sunflower hybrids are also on the cards, said officials.

The NDMC and PWD are gearing up for the G20 Summit and making efforts to beautify New Delhi by planting a diverse range of flora. The tulip festival is one of the most significant events to showcase the beauty of the tulips and attract tourists to New Delhi. The festival, which includes a walk and photography contest, is sure to bring joy to tourists and residents alike.
