NHA Launches Revamped ABHA Mobile App to Manage Health Records under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission
ABHA app has been updated with a new User Interface (UI) and new functionalities that allow individuals to access their health records at any time and from any location. Existing ABHA app users can also update to the most recent app version.
National Health Authority (NHA) announced the launch of a revamped Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) mobile application as part of its flagship scheme, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The NDHM Health Records app, formerly known as the ABHA app, is now available for download from the Google Play Store and has received over 4 lakh downloads.
About ABHA App:
ABHA app has been updated with a new User Interface (UI) and new functionalities that allow individuals to access their health records at any time and from any location. Existing ABHA app users can also update to the most recent app version.
This mobile application allows users to create an ABHA address (username@abdm), a memorable username that can be linked to a 14-digit randomly generated ABHA number. Users can also link their health records created at an ABDM-compliant health facility and view them on their smartphones using the mobile application.
After an individual's consent, the application also allows self-uploading of physical health records in ABDM compliant health lockers, as well as sharing of digital health records such as diagnostic reports, prescriptions, CoWIN vaccination certificates, and so on.
In addition, the ABHA mobile application now includes new features such as profile editing and the ability to link and unlink ABHA numbers (14 digits) with ABHA addresses.
Other features, such as face authentication/fingerprint / biometric authentication and the ability to scan a QR code at the counter of an ABDM compliant facility for express registration, will be available soon.
Dr. R.S. Sharma, CEO of the National Health Authority (NHA), elaborated on the ABHA mobile app, saying, "The ABHA app will be instrumental in assisting citizens in creating their longitudinal health records."
“Patients can access their health records in seconds using their ABHA address, which will empower them in a variety of ways. It will allow them to save their medical history on a single platform and access or share their health records at any time and from any location without fear of losing them. This digitization of data exchange will result in better clinical decision making and care continuity," he added.
