Nitin Gadkari Reaches Parliament in India’s First Hydrogen-Powered Vehicle ‘Toyota Mirai’
Nitin Gadkari has already pushed his coworkers to switch to electric vehicles, claiming that if you spend Rs. 100 now on fuel, you will only pay Rs. 10 in the future.
Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari, who has been a supporter of alternative fuels, arrived in Parliament on Wednesday in his hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai, declaring that hydrogen is the fuel of the future. "To become 'Atmanirbhar,' we've added green hydrogen, which is generated from water."
This vehicle is a concept. The production of green hydrogen will now commence in the country. "Imports will be reduced, and new job possibilities will be generated," the minister stated.
In January, the minister stated that he will be seen driving on Delhi roads to encourage people to adopt hydrogen fuel, which will be the fuel of the future. As previously stated, the automobile is from Toyota, and the hydrogen fuel is from the Faridabad-based Indian Oil Pump.
In Parliament, the minister also discussed alternative fuels, claiming that green fuel will lower the cost of electric vehicles, bringing them to a level with fuel vehicles within the next two years. According to the minister, alternative fuels would help reduce pollution levels in the national capital.
Early this month, the minister unveiled India's first hydrogen-powered advanced Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, the Toyota Mirai. The Toyota Miral can go 845 miles without stopping for fuel, which is a Guinness World Record. Toyota Kirloskar Motor and the International Centre for Automotive Technology have launched a pilot project to determine if the Toyota Mirai is suited for Indian roads and weather.
